Timber Merchant - Lamcal

Syd Caddy started his career as a timber merchant in the 1930s.  In 1950, he set up Grange Timber in Fairfield Victoria, a name that has become synonomous with the timber industry, and his son Ron followed him into the business in 1960.

Grange Timber was sold in 1989 but Ron, with his considerable experience as a timber merchant, couldn't stay away from the industry and purchased Lamcal Builders Suppliers in 1992.

Heath is the third generation Caddy to be involved in the building industry and joined Ron to build Lamcal into a supplier of quality timber, prefabricated frame and roof trusses and hardware.  Heath is a carpenter and HIA registered domestic builder, and is the Managing Director of Lamcal.

Gary Armistead brings many years timber experience, and is the yard manager of Lamcal. Gary is responsible for a dedicated, well trained team and the day to day excellent service which customers have come to expect as standard from Lamcal.

Ron is currently serving a second term as the president of the Timber Merchants Association of Victoria and has been involved in many Industry associations throughout his career.

Lamcal is a member of the Frame and Truss Manufacturers Association (FTMA), and Hardware Building Traders (HBT) an Australia wide hardware buying group.
